In 2023, Dr. Krystal Martin took a significant step by co-founding the Greater Greener Gloster Project, a commendable initiative aimed at addressing the air quality concerns stemming from the Drax Amite Biomass facility. As a servant leader, Dr. Martin is dedicated to fostering positive change in her community, drawing inspiration from Mahatma Gandhi's insightful words, "Be the change that you want to see in the world."

A proud graduate of Gloster High School in 1988 and a three-time alumna of Jackson State University, Dr. Krystal Nicole Martin has demonstrated a longstanding commitment to her community since 2009 through various nonprofit endeavors. With over 25 years of experience in higher education as both a practitioner and administrator, she has chosen to return to her hometown to contribute to the protection of the environment and the health of Gloster's residents.
